Stepparent Adoptions and/or Termination of Parental Rights
We can help step-parents interested in adopting their spouse's child from a previous relationship. In these types of adoptions, the biological parent can consent to the adoption and the termination of his/her parental rights. The step-parent that adopts a child in this manner will be physically and financially responsible for the child and considered a legal parent to said child.
In the event the biological parent does not consent to the adoption, we can help the other parent and the step-parent desiring to have the child adopted to file a petition to terminate the parental rights of the biological parent. |  | |
